Originally from the Gold Coast he moved to Cairns about 20 years ago, with a very broad knowledge of all aspects of hospitality operations. Cairns seemed to be the perfect place to raise a young family and to begin a new career in commercial sales and kitchen designs.
Since those early days Peter has done numerous kitchen fit outs and has gained a wealth of experience with kitchen installations in hospitals, schools, hotels, bars, pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and cafés. You name it, he’s done it. No job is too small or too large.
Peter thoroughly enjoys designing commercial kitchens and will always think of the best way to make your new kitchen environment suitable to whichever style of cuisine you are serving in an efficient and timely manner. Peter is always keeping himself up to date with all the Health and Hygiene laws implemented the local council authorities. Jeff is a licensed Electrical Technician by trade and decided to start the business in early 2018 following more than 20 years of hands on experience in the Catering Equipment Services industry in North Queensland.
After moving from Melbourne to Cairns in the late 80’s, Jeff first worked for a local electrical company which specialized in commercial catering equipment but when that business shut down, he started up his own company focusing on all facets of catering equipment repairs, maintenance and installations.
After being contacted over and over again by his service clients to recommend the best equipment for their kitchens whenever they were upgrading or adding new catering equipment, Jeff recognised that there was a significant gap in the local sales market for the supply of quality European and Australian Equipment with the backup of technical knowledge and support. With this in mind, the idea of Far North QLD Catering Equipment was born.
Jeff’s focus in the past has purely been with equipment servicing. He has a wealth of knowledge of all kinds of kitchen equipment, has attended numerous specialised training courses around the country, and has an abundance of firsthand experience during field work. He knows how equipment works, he understands how and where it should be installed and can determine whether or not you actually have the minimum power, water and drainage requirements available in your kitchen to run and operate your new purchase.
Jeff is always keeping himself up to date with all the Australian Electrical Safety Laws and Legislation, especially those that apply to commercial kitchens.
